Tennis in
Bangkok — FAQ
How much does it cost to play tennis in Bangkok?
Court hire in Bangkok typically runs from around ฿180 to ฿520 per hour. Public and outdoor hard courts sit at the lower end, while indoor, rooftop and clay courts in central districts like Thong Lo and Sathon command a premium.
Are there indoor tennis courts in Bangkok?
Yes. Several clubs offer covered or fully indoor courts — useful during the rainy season and the midday heat. Filter the directory above by "Indoor" to see only clubs with sheltered courts.
Which Bangkok clubs host Breakers tournaments?
Clubs marked with the lime "Breakers venue" badge run official editions. They're set up for our best-of-three super tie-break format and pool draws — turn up, get seeded by level, and play.
Do I need to be a member to play?
Most clubs in the directory rent courts by the hour to non-members, though a few private clubs are members-only. Breakers venues are open to anyone registered for an edition, no membership required.
When's the best time to book a court in Bangkok?
Early mornings (6–9am) and late evenings are coolest and most popular, so book ahead. Midday slots are easiest to get and often cheaper — just bring water and play under cover if you can.
Where to play tennis in Bangkok
Bangkok's tennis scene is bigger than most visitors expect. From floodlit public courts tucked behind condominiums to polished clay academies in Thong Lo, the city has a court for every level and budget — and a year-round climate that keeps people playing.
Clay or hard courts?
Hard courts dominate the city and are the most affordable to hire, especially outdoors. Clay is rarer and pricier but easier on the body in the heat, with a slower bounce that rewards patient, tactical players.
Beating the heat and the rain
From roughly May to October, afternoon downpours are routine. Indoor and covered courts — concentrated around Sathon, Sukhumvit and Chatuchak — keep your game on schedule. In the dry months, the cooler early mornings and floodlit evenings are the sweet spots.
